Your personal data

constat-auto.com is an independent service. It is not the insurers' e-Constat app, nor an official government service.

The information you enter is used to produce your accident report, then to send it to both drivers and, if you ask for it, to your insurer or broker. It is kept for 2 years, then deleted.

Details of the processing

Controller :: The constat-auto.com team — contact@constat-auto.com
Data collected :: name and contact details, address, vehicle and registration, insurer and policy number, driving licence number, date of birth, circumstances, sketch, damage photos, signature, whether anyone was injured (yes/no), and GPS position if you use the geolocation button.
Purpose :: to produce the accident report, generate the PDF and send it to the recipients you name.
Legal basis :: performance of the service you request. No data is used for advertising and nothing is sold on.
Recipients :: both drivers, and the insurer or broker you name. Our technical processors are also involved (hosting, database, email delivery); they are listed in the privacy policy.
Retention :: 2 years from the date of the report, in line with the two-year limitation period in Article L.114-1 of the French Insurance Code.
Your rights :: access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability, by writing to contact@constat-auto.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Read before you start — what this tool does not cover

Two vehicles only — This form describes an accident between two vehicles. In a multi-vehicle pile-up, complete a separate report with each driver involved.
If anyone is injured — Call 15 or 112 first. An accident report replaces neither a police complaint nor a medical certificate, and we will never ask you for injury details.
If the other driver refuses to sign or leaves — You can send your own statement alone, telling your insurer so. In a hit-and-run, file a police complaint: note the plate, the time and any witnesses.
Foreign-registered vehicle — The form accepts it, but a foreign insurer may require its own country's report. Keep the paper form too if you have one.
Delivery and acceptance — The PDF is given to you and sent to the addresses you provide. We guarantee neither its receipt by an insurer nor its acceptance: this is an independent service.
